Clare Dahlia Snetsinger understood that artistic expression is a powerful means of human communication and personal development. While battling cancer for 3 ½ years until her death at age 17, she was very upbeat and inspiring in the way she carried herself. Clare's knack for design led her to use jewelry and scarves to create dramatic ensembles out of second-hand store finds. She also had an interest in humanitarian causes, including the anti-apartheid movement. This fund awards scholarships to State College Area School District youth who demonstrate increased skills in the arts and high-level thinking and knowledge of the creative process.
